Chelsea Faught, M.S., ALC.
Chelsea grew up in the Birmingham area. She is a National Certified Counselor and is an Associate Licensed Counselor working under the supervision of Laurie Pierce.
Chelsea earned her Bachelor degree in Psychology from Mississippi College. She graduated with her M.S. in Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans. While in graduate school, she studied and gained experience using play therapy to counsel children. She also received the Play Therapy Center for Education and Research Student Excellence Award.
Chelsea has studied play therapy. Through play therapy, children are able to explore their feelings, experiences, and world through their natural language of play. Play therapy also helps children gain self-control and self-esteem. She has used play therapy techniques to help children and adolescents dealing with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, abuse, divorce, and adjustment to life changes. She has also used filial therapy to teach parents skills used in play therapy to enhance the child-parent relationship.
