Tiffany Elliott is from Raleigh NC. She moved to Birmingham AL to intern with Samaritan Counseling Centers of Greater Birmingham in 2016. During her time as an intern, she has developed a passion for working with the under-served population with Birmingham. At Firehouse shelter for the homeless and around the city, she is often called the “affirmations lady.”
Tiffany served in the US Navy, studied abroad in Sweden and South Africa, and taught English in South Korea. She volunteered to work with deported US military veterans in Mexico and has traveled extensively to India, China, Jamaica, Italy, Thailand, Australia, and Canada.
Tiffany enjoys the beach, college basketball, meditation, new foods and teas, and various types of music.
Tiffany graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with BA degrees in Anthropology and Communication. In addition, she also holds a Master’s Degree in human behavior from National University and a Master’s degree in Marriage Family Therapy from Northcentral University.
As a new therapist with Samaritan, Tiffany works with all ages from adolescents through adults for individual and family therapy. Her objective is to provide an open, safe, and non-judgmental space in which clients can explore ways to manage and navigate life challenges. Her focus includes domestic violence, relationship issues, grief, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, cultural and social conflict, anger management, or any other issues impacting a client.
Tiffany also has focused on working with LGBTQ, military, and veteran clients, as well as with teens. She strives to meet clients where they are and help them develop effective coping skills.
